For the design of my poster I took 2 original pictures that were provided, and cropped out the backgrounds leaving only Calvin and Ruby. The text is to show that the movie has something to do with writing. The line “There’s a thousand ways to fall in love, but only one story.” shows the uniqueness of the story of Ruby and Calvin. The date is written to the upper right side of the background text to make the text appear as if it’s a journal entry.
Tim Simmons has an uncanny ability to make regular old Earth look like a far-away planet from Isaac Asimov’s imagination. For twenty years, Simmons has been using studio still life techniques to illuminate night landscapes and create some of the most awe-inspiring, mystical photos out there.
Simmons’ practice is rooted in his concern for our planet. By revealing undiscovered worlds within banal landscapes, his goal is to take on environmental apathy, to challenge the viewer’s assumptions about the constancy of nature.
